Grand Theft Auto V is now out and many of the developers at Rockstar working on the series are switching their attention to the coming GTA Online mode, which will be launched for all buyers in two weeks via a small patch.

Dan Houser, one of the co-founders of the studio, tells Polygon that, “At some point in the next weeks and months will have to actually think about what we're doing next, and if we're going to do anything.”

The existence of GTA Online might mean that Rockstar will not launch any expansion for the core game and will choose to focus on adding new events and missions for the persistent online world.

A decision will be made by lead producer Leslie Benzies and lead artist Aaron Garbut.

GTA V can be played on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 and analysts are estimating that it might quickly become the best-selling title of the year.
