Controversial video game developer Rockstar has announced the availability of "The Music of Grand Theft Auto IV" soundtrack compilation and "The Evil Genius DJ Green Lantern: Liberty City Invasion: Music From and Inspired by Grand Theft Auto IV" via the European iTunes Store. The latter contains eight new tracks made exclusively for DJ Green Lantern's radio show ("Liberty City Invasion") on the in-game radio station ("The Beat"). The other eight new songs are directly inspired by Rockstar's sandbox title.

iTunes Europe now lists the following tracks as included inside what is called "Special Edition The Music of Grand Theft Auto IV": Michael Hunter - Soviet Connection (theme from GTA IV); Mobb Deep Featuring Havoc & Prodigy from H.N.I.C. Part 2 Sessions - Dirty New Yorker; Busta Rhymes - Where's My Money; Bob Marley & The Wailers and Damian Marley - Stand Up Jamrock; Seryoga - Liberty City: The Invasion; Greenskeepers ? Vagabond.

GTA IV is one of the most controversial video game titles of all time, having brought Rockstar both fame and grief (more fame than grief, of course). The developers behind this successful franchise, available across the most popular platforms today (PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360), are also known for another controversial video game, called Manhunt. While that one too is popular, it's not half as acclaimed as the GTA series. So no iTunes Manhunt soundtracks for you! Not that it even had any (unless sticking a syringe in a man's neck sounds "like music to your ears").

The Music of Grand Theft Auto IV compilation is priced at 7.99 British Pounds. The same price tag is applied to Liberty City Invasion: Music From and Inspired by Grand Theft Auto IV. You can also grab one song at a time for ?0.79.
