More threats from the attorney as the release date gets closer

It's always funny to see Jack Thompson throwing dirt towards Grand Theft Auto IV as soon as news hit the stands and people start to get really excited. Actually, I am sure that Jack was one of the saddest persons in the world when the GTA delay was announced. And why wouldn't he be? This game is his ultimate toy.

And the game's on! Following last week's announcement that the long awaited game will be available for purchase starting the 29th of April, Jack Thompson started to scream. For the moment, he doesn't exactly seem to know what actions he is going to take against Take Two and Rockstar, but he will definitely find something. All his vague legal threats were sent via an e-mail to gamepolitics.com.

Here is a little excerpt "Take-Two shares have jumped approximately 12% today on this news [the GTA release date]. What the market is not factoring in, however, is the downside risk coming Take-Two's way with the sale of this "Mature" game to kids, which is a murder simulator for violence against women, cops, and innocent bystanders..."

In order to fight against the pure evil, Jack Thompson plans to contact state and federal officials in order to stop sales of Grand Theft Auto IV to anyone under 17, as the game really should. He also contacted Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, who has supported Thompson's efforts in the past. Still, the past might be nothing more than just... the past, since the Florida Bar trial is still fresh in our minds and a verdict is expected soon - Judge Dava Tunis is conducting a review of transcripts and documents from Thompson's December trial which could affect Jack's status as a licensed attorney. And since the verdict is said to be made this spring... wouldn't it be funny to have it on the 29th?
