The Grand Theft Auto franchise is one of the most popular series of video games ever created, gathering a huge amount of fans across the world. Now, with one of its latest installments, Grand Theft Auto IV, its developer, Rockstar, has gained critical acclaim for the solid and immersive game it has offered to fans.

But while the console versions were top-notch, the same thing couldn't be said about the PC one, as a lot of fans experienced serious problems while attempting to play the game. This, coupled with the fact that on a high-end PC it was only playable at the lowest settings, made a lot of people quite angry.

This prompted the Rockstar team to develop a few patches in order to address the problems, and, in large, the game was quite playable. Was is the correct tense, though, as, thanks to a recent update to the GamesForWindows Live service, which is required in order to play the game, a lot of users have complained that their copy of GTA IV is now experiencing severe stuttering and lag.

But don't worry, as the team at Microsoft has realized what has happened and has released a fix for the issue, which will now make the game playable once more without any stuttering. “Thanks for your patience, a new update is available that addresses the stuttering issue with GTA IV. Just log in and apply the new update,” a Microsoft representative revealed.

Hopefully, this will mean that players can once again explore the glorious Liberty City in the game and that their experience will be once more trouble-free, making up for all of the frustrating moments that a lot of them reported when they bought the game on its release day.
