The rumors were true

Rockstar never ceases to amaze, shock and downright flirt with controversy as it has just announced that the second DLC episode for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV will be entitled The Ballad of Gay Tony.

After seeing the adventures of foreign immigrant Niko Belic and the quests of North American biker Johnny Klebitz, Liberty City will now be host to another playable character, in the person of Luis Lopez, who will show us how he can balance his daytime hoodlum life with a nighttime job that involves working for nighclub impresario Tony “Gay Tony” Prince.

It seems that, after all, the rumors were true, and the “Impossible Trinity” achievement unlocked by players in the original GTA IV, when they completed the museum robbery and Niko, Johnny and Luis met, was actually part of the planned DLC that Rockstar had in mind for the Xbox 360 version of the game.

This new episode will focus on a very different part of the life of Liberty City, as the biker gangs and underground crime society will be replaced by the glitzy “high-end night life” of the thriving metropolis. According to the announcement made by Rockstar, “players will struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and with the uncertainty about who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price.”

Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony will be released on the Xbox Live Marketplace this fall, retailing for 19.99 dollars or 1600 MS Points. It will undoubtedly shatter sales records, which were already in pretty bad shape after being broken by the first DLC episode, The Lost and Damned. Keep checking back for more details on this future DLC and other surprises that Rockstar has in store for its fans.
