GTA IV Episodic Content, But Only for Xbox 360. Surprised...?

With GTA IV on the way for Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PS3 on October 19, next-gen gamers could possibly have a better autumn. That's of course if a meteorite doesn't hit the Earth and we all become extinct just like the dinosaurs. But there's always room for better. Apparently, a Take-Two spokesperson has confirmed that Xboxers will be getting even more Episodic content for GTA IV (via Xbox Live perhaps).

The Take-Two spokesperson, has confirmed GamesIndustry.biz that the episodic content in the scope for Grand Theft Auto IV will be released for Xbox 360 gamers alone, Eurogamer reports. Apparently, there were plans for an exclusive deal for quite some time now, following the release of Take-Two's Q2 financial report on Tuesday. The same report confirmed that the episodic content would be released for the Xbox 360 system, during the company's 2008 fiscal year. No mention of a PlayStation3 release, as you can imagine.

Most recently, a company representative has confirmed that "The Grand Theft Auto IV episodic content is exclusive to Xbox 360." So it's official, and PS3 gamers aren't getting it. Don't even get me started on why the PS3 isn't getting anything anymore.

Finally, as the same sites mentioned in the above post, the financial report also wrote that fellow Take-Two title LA Noire is due out in fiscal 2008. The same spokesperson implied that both Microsoft's system and Sony's lagging PlayStation3 are likely to be getting the title, stating that "LA Noire is being developed for next-generation systems."

However, I wouldn't be too surprised to hear that LA Noire for the PS3 was canceled, for whatever reason. After all, why aren't PS3 gamers getting the episodic content for GTA IV? It's only because Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar (the developer) and everyone else involved with the third-person shooter, know that there are great risks involved when it comes to a PS3 port. The damn thing just doesn't sell. Sony would better hope things work out when they slash the PS3's price.
