Just a few days ago, we reported that Rockstar's hit title Grand Theft Auto IV had lost the number one position in a couple of European charts and now we're bringing some similar news - Grand Theft Auto IV has recorded another drop, on the Xbox 360 in terms of playing time. Surprised by the news?

Reported by Major Nelson, Xbox 360 Top Live Titles played last week were:

1. Call of Duty 4 2. Halo 3 3. GTA IV 4. Guitar Hero III 5. Gears of War 6. Rock Band 7. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 8. FIFA 08 9. Forza Motorsport 2 10. GRID Demo.

As you can see, Grand Theft Auto has dropped all the way to the third place, being defeated by the great Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3, the titles that have been dominating the charts before GTA IV was released. It seems that people got bored pretty quickly of GTA and CoD and Halo are still bringing the best and most exciting multiplayer experience. The only question remaining now is whether GTA IV will manage to win back the number one spot or it will keep falling down the charts during the following weeks.

Grand Theft Auto has been really welcomed by fans all over the world and it is already considered by many the winner of this year's game awards. We're just wondering whether things change after such a big drop happening so quickly. Anyway, if you haven't already done it, go ahead and check Softpedia's review of Grand Theft Auto IV, the Xbox 360 version.

Grand Theft Auto IV presents the story of Niko Bellic and slowly drags you into the underground to discover that the world is a lot sicker than you could have imagined. How to live this life is your choice and you'll often deal with moral dilemmas. Grand Theft Auto IV has been available on the Xbox 360 since April 29, 2008 and, most probably, it will receive some additional content in autumn. Maybe that will be the moment it will rise and shine again.
