14 DAY TRIAL // Rockstar Games confirms that, in order to celebrate the newly-released Last Team Standing update for Grand Theft Auto 5, it's organizing a special event weekend in the GTA Online multiplayer mode, bringing a huge variety of bonuses for players, as well as special free items, including a mask modeled after Manhunt protagonist Smiley.
GTA 5 launched for the PS3 and Xbox 360 back in September of last year, and in October of 2013, the GTA Online multiplayer mode appeared as part of a free update from Rockstar Games. Since then, the studio hasn't stopped its support, launching different patches to improve the online mode as well as to add many new activities, items, and things to do for people to enjoy.
The latest major update was the Last Team Standing one, which dropped yesterday in the form of patch 1.17, bringing new bikes, guns, and plenty of missions for the popular Last Team Standing game type.
A special event weekend celebrates the update
Now, in order to get people to enjoy the game and the fresh update, a special event weekend is already live today, October 3, and lasts until October 5, bringing forth a huge suite of goodies for players to enjoy, from bonuses to in-game currency, not to mention other activities.
"Limited time only GTA$ and RP bonuses, exclusive weekend-only unlocks to collect, special contests, an epic all-star Last Team Standing live stream and much more await those with both the staying power and the stopping power to rule the 10 new Jobs from The Last Team Standing Update and the many, many more currently being created by the Social Club community with the new Last Team Standing Creator Mode," Rockstar confirms on its Newswire.
Free items and rewards are available
GTA Online players who complete the Last Team Standing Event weekend playlist, which contains five brand new LTS jobs with support for up to 16 people, will receive a special mask modeled after Smiley, the protagonist of Rockstar's famous Manhunt series. Besides that, an ammo cache is awarded every time the playlist is completed, which includes bombs, bullets, and body armor.
Bonus RP is available for all LTS jobs players participate it, while winners get rewards via bets placed by Rockstar on all the matches. Players who enter the game with their crewmates will also get bonus RP, while crew clothing, tattoos, and vehicle mods are available with a 50% discount.
Other contests are also coming throughout the weekend, so pay attention to notifications inside the game.
