The development team at Polyphony Digital and publisher Sony Computer Entertainment are announcing that their racing tittle Gran Turismo 6 is getting a new update which is designed to introduce two new superb vehicles to the game, with players now able to try out the Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo and Infiniti Concept Vision Gran Turismo.

The official announcement contains two beautifully shot videos showcasing the best features of the new additions and features information about their pedigree and how they were integrated into the game.

Sony also states, “After the update has been installed, the cars can be purchased from the Vision GT option within the CARS section in ‘My Home’. Alternatively, it is also possible to obtain the cars by completing a lap (regardless of the lap time) in the new Seasonal Events, available only for a limited time.”

Basically, the Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo and Infiniti Concept Vision Gran Turismo are offered with minimal effort to all those who own Gran Turismo 6 and can spare a few minutes in order to play the racing experience as soon as the update is applied.

The two new cars are impressive in their own right and they will probably be a good excuse for long-time fans to return to the Polyphony Digital racing title and see how it stacks up against more recent releases, like Forza Horizon 2 or DriveClub.

The developers are also saying that they have fixed a number of issues with the game, a full list of which can be seen by clicking the button at the end of the article.

Gran Turismo 7 will not arrive for some time

Gran Turismo 6 was launched in November of last year, but the long development process from the notoriously perfectionist team means that it was not delivered on the PlayStation 4 and gamers had to settle for the limited performance offered by the PS3.

At the moment, there are rumors that an upgraded version of the title will be launched on the new Sony platform at some point in the future, but no official announcement has been made.

Some members of the Gran Turismo fan community believe that all resources should be focused on Gran Turismo 7 in order to rebuild the entire experience from the ground up, with a new graphics engine that can use all the power of the PlayStation 4 to deliver impressive racing moments.

The launch of a new version might take place in 2016.
