Today, the GSMA announced the nominees for this year’s Global Mobile Awards, unveiling that 158 of them had been selected in the 18th edition of the GMA.

The winners will be announced on February 26 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, during an afternoon ceremony hosted by David Walliams, GSMA also announced.

The entire list of nominees, which spans across a wide range of categories, including apps, smartphones, tablet PCs, feature phones, services and more, can be seen on this page.

In the smartphone category, for example, there are four companies fighting for the supreme title, including Apple for iPhone 5, HTC for Droid DNA / J Butterfly / HTC DLX, Nokia for Lumia 920, Samsung for Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung for Galaxy S3.

In the best feature phone or entry level phone, nominees include Nokia for 103, Nokia for Asha 302, Nokia for Asha 305, and Samsung for C3312 Duos.

When it comes to tablets, the list is a bit longer: Amazon for Kindle Fire HD 8.9, Apple for iPad Mini, Apple for iPad with retina display, Asus for Transformer Infinity, Google for Nexus 7, and Samsung for Galaxy Note 10.1.

“The GSMA warmly congratulates all the nominees announced today. The competition this year was of an exceptionally high quality, breaking all previous records,” said Michael O'Hara, chief marketing officer, GSMA.

“Our judging panel has assessed well over 600 entries and nominations for the 37 awards, the largest ever number of honours to be presented at the Global Mobile Awards. It is a tremendous achievement to have been shortlisted and we look forward to recognising the winners at Mobile World Congress this month.”

There are a series of enhancements brought to this year’s GMA, such as the new “Connected Life Awards,” or developments in the “Best Mobile Technology” and “Apps of the Year” categories.

“Thirty-two awards will be presented during the afternoon ceremony, which will begin at 2.30 pm in Hall 4, Conference Village, Auditorium 1, and will be open to all Global Mobile Awards nominees, Mobile World Congress Platinum, Gold and Silver Pass conference attendees and accredited press and analysts attending the Congress,” the GSMA announced.
