The Boost pack can be seen as play-to-win by some fans

The development team at Codemasters has stealthily released the first downloadable content package for its GRID Autosport title, which seems to be designed to basically make the racing game somewhat easier for those players who haven't progressed too much until now.

The DLC is designed to increase experience gain by 50 percent in the core Career mode, and by about another 50% when the player goes online, where they can also gain more in-game cash and vehicle XP.

Those who want the new option will need to pay 2.99 dollars or Euro.

The Boost Pack for GRID Autosport hasn't been mentioned by Codemasters officially until now, and the company didn't talk about it before the racing game was launched.

The studio explained that it wanted to deliver a number of mini-expansions and car packs for its game, designed to improve the gamers' experience and to introduce some new modes.

The Boost Pack was probably silently launched in order to avoid a strong reaction from the community, which might see the option of paying in order to gain XP faster as a symptom of a pay-to-win approach, which is generally disliked.

GRID Autosport is only offered on the PC, the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
