GParted Live, a small bootable GNU/Linux distribution for x86-based computers that can be used for creating, reorganizing, and deleting disk partitions with the help of tools that allow managing filesystems, has just been updated to a stable version, 0.19.1-4.

The Gparted developers have released a new development version of GParted Live and they have made a number of important modifications. In fact, there has been a new release almost every day in last few days, which is rather unsual.

"The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2014/Aug/29)," reads the official announcement.

According to the changelog, MC_HxEd has removed from GParted live because the project is no longer being maintained, and zenity is now being used instead of gdialog.

GParted Live can be installed on CD, USB, PXE server, and hard disk, then run on an x86 machine. People will find it very easy to use and shouldn’t have any problems running the operating system.

A complete list of new features and bug fixes can be found in the changelog. You can download GParted Live 0.19.1-4 right now from Softpedia. This is a very small distribution and weighs in at a little over 180MB, which makes it ideal for recovery and partitioning jobs.

Please keep in mind that this is a very powerful tool and it can do as much damage as it does good if it falls into the wrong hands or if it's not used properly.
