GParted Live, a small bootable GNU/Linux distribution for x86-based computers that can be used for creating, reorganizing, and deleting disk partitions with the help of tools that allow managing filesystems, is now at version 0.19.0 Beta 1-3.

The Gparted Life project undergoes dormant periods and hardly are any updates released, but now it looks like two versions have arrived inside a week.

“The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2014/Jun/09),” reads the official announcement.

There aren't too many changes or improvements, just like it was the case with the previous Beta in the series. The dmraid and kpartx packages have been reverted to the ones from the Debian repository, and the “--enable-libparted-dmraid” configure flag for Gparted has been dropped.

GParted Live can be installed on CD, USB, PXE server, and hard disk, then run on an x86 machine. The GParted software tool uses libparted from the parted project to detect and manipulate partition tables.

A complete list of new features and bug fixes can be found in the announcement. You can download GParted 0.19.0 Beta 1-3 right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
