GParted Live, a small bootable GNU/Linux distribution for x86-based computers that can be used for creating, reorganizing, and deleting disk partitions with the help of tools that allow managing filesystems, is now at version 0.18.0-2.

GParted Live 0.18.0-2 can be installed on CD, USB, PXE server, and hard disk, then run on an x86 machine. It's very easy to use, and if you ever employed just the application, you won't have any difficulty running the Live CD.

“The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2014/Apr/10),” reads the changelog.

Besides the updated Debian base, the developer also brought a new Linux kernel, 3.13.7-1. It's one of the newest ones available, although we expect the developer to adopt the 3.14 kernel branch very soon.

Also, the packages screen, rsync, iputils-ping, telnet, traceroute, and bc have been added, and now the SSH host key protocol ed25519 is being generated during the booting procedure.

A complete list of new features and bug fixes can be found in the changelog. Download Gparted Live 0.18.0-2 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
