New rumors surface about a possible GOG.com Linux support move

GOG.com is looking to hire a senior software engineer and it seems that this job position is signaling the arrival of this popular digital distribution service on the Linux platform.

The GOG digital distribution service is run by CD Project, the same studio that is responsible for the Witcher franchise. They gave the Linux community some hope a while back, hinting at Linux support, but it turned out to be just a marketing oversight.

Now, GOG is offering an important position called “Senior Software Engineer” and something in its requirements has raised some eyebrows.

In order to qualify for this job, the candidate must have technical knowledge of popular operating systems, such as Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.

It may be nothing, but Linux gamers would really want to get compatible GOG games. Even if this announcement doesn't say anything, I have a hunch that CD Project will not wait too long to get into this market.
