The team behind digital distribution service GOG.com is announcing that it is launching a new service that will place more emphasis on the indie games it is offering, giving them a chance to get more funding and more promotion.

Teams that are interested will be able to get an advance on royalties as long as they accept a slightly more disadvantageous split on actual sales until the initial sum is paid back.

At the same time, GOG says that all indie titles that sigh up will be promoted using the main feature slot of the webpage and will also get a marketing push using other social media channels, from the official Facebook to the YouTube channel.

The promotional efforts will also be calibrate to suit the type of game that is being created.

The GOG.com team has put together a series of testimonials from indie developers it has already worked with.
