The team at GOG.com is announcing that it is launching a series of initiatives designed to allow fans to celebrate the upcoming Star Wars Day on May 4 by getting access to some of the video games that have been associated with the franchise.

The biggest news is that both Star Wars X-Wing and Star Wars TIE-Fighter are being added to the store with the Collector's CD-ROM content included, which means gamers will be able to enjoy upgraded graphics and the MUSE sound system.

The collaboration with Disney and Lucasfilm also means gamers can get access to Star Wars: Rebel Assault I & II, live-action and video-driven titles that allow players to battle the Galactic Empire.

Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast and Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy are also available for interested gamers.

The titles associated with the franchise are also offered in two solid bundles, called Blaster Bundle and Saber Bundle, which benefit from some deep discounts.

As always, the games feature no DRM solutions on any of the platforms on which players can buy them.

Gamers interested in the new games or the packages mentioned above can get them until Thursday, May 7, at 6:59 AM Greenwhich Mean Time.

Star Wars has a bright gaming future

Old titles associated with the franchise are appealing to those who have already played Star Wars experiences before, but the focus for most fans is on the coming games that Electronic Arts is working on.

Star Wars Battlefront is being created by the development team at DICE and will be delivered in the fall for the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

It will allow gamers to become powerful characters like Boba Fett and Darth Vader and will feature air battles and the presence of AT-ATs and other vehicles.

DICE has said that it wants to capture the spirit of older titles in the series with its new release.

BioWare is also working on a Star Wars experience, but no information has been offered about it so far.

Fans would love to see something which is connected to The Old Republic, but the studio will probably create a story-focused experience linked to the coming The Force Awakens movie.
