After receiving push support for the SFTP (secure FTP) protocol last month, the GVFS (GNOME Virtual File System) software was updated a few days ago with pull support for the aforementioned protocol.

Therefore, GVFS 1.19.3 adds support pull support and implements try_query_fs_info using the OpenSSH statvfs extension in the SFTP protocol. It supports seek past end of file for the HTTP protocol and sets the is_hidden property for all files that start with a “.” on the DAV protocol.

Moreover, support for output streams in several backends is now truncated, the libdaemon and libgvfscommon libraries are now converted into a private shared library, and Samba 3.4.0 is now a requirement for the SMB protocol.

Last but not least, several other bugs have been fixed and various translations have been updated. For more details, please check the official raw changelog.

Download GVFS 1.19.3 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
