Tracker, a semantic data storage software used on desktop PCs and mobile devices alike, powered by the latest GNOME technologies and designed to act as a central repository of user information, reached version 1.1.1 on July 10, 2014.

The Tracker 1.1.1 release brings a brand new extractor, improves the extraction of content from ODT files by omitting line breaks and embedded tabs, and adds previously untranslated strings to the control component of Tracker.

Furthermore, the --watch command-line option has been added in order to allow the user to watch for database changes, language, author, and copyright information can now be extracted from ISO images, and AppData with screenshots for application stores has been added.

The “tracker-miner-apps” and “tracker-miner-user-guides” components have been added in this release in order to mine data about apps, help content, and user guides.

In order to avoid filename to URN lookups, the -i or --resource-is-iri option has been added to the “tracker-info” component of Tracker. Also, a “control” tab has been added in order to allow users to enable finer control of what's indexed.

Last but not least, several languages have been updated, among which we can mention Spanish, Galician, German, Czech, Catalan, Italian, Korean, Lithuanian, Polish, Russian, Serbian, Turkish and Chinese. More details can be found in the official release announcement.

You can download Tracker 1.1.1 right now from Softpedia. Keep in mind though that it is an unstable release and it should not be deployed on production machines, as it’s intended for testing purposes only.
