14 DAY TRIAL // Tracker, a semantic data storage for desktop and mobile devices, which uses W3C standards for RDF ontologies and Nepomuk with SPARQL to query and update the data, has just reached version 1.0.1.
The developers of Tracker took a very big leap when the GNOME 3.12 branch was released and decided that it was the perfect time to ditch the old numbering system, which advanced really slowly (the last stable was 0.17.2), and to get to 1.0.
The package was stable for a long time, but it must have created some confusion to have something numbered like that.
According to the developers, --enable-icu-charset-detection has been added to prefer ICU over enca for the MP3 content detection, the "Unable to insert multiple values for subject" error has been fixed, libextract-mp3.so no longer hangs on some MP3 files, and a crash that occurred in extractor during the dbus timeout warning has been fixed.
Also, tracker-tag is no longer missing a command line option for AND-operations, encoding detection with libicu now handles failure better, giflib 4.2.x now supports PrintGifError, and much more.
