Cheese, a Photobooth-inspired GNOME application for taking pictures and videos from a webcam which also includes graphical effects based on the gstreamer-backend, is now at version 3.8.1.
Cheese 3.8.1 can be used to take photos and videos, and it's based on GNOME 3.0, GStreamer, Clutter, and GNOME Video Effects.
Highlights of Cheese 3.8.1:
• The GtkBox casts have been replaced with GtkGrid casts. This was necessary because the "Leave Fullscreen" button was not showing when in client was in fullscreen mode; • The creation of effects previews is now working properly; • The deprecated clutter sink creation has been fixed; • The application now depends on valac 0.18 for Gstreamer 1.0; • libcheese no longer needs the gnome-desktop package.
A complete list of changes can be found in the official announcement.
