GNOME Shell 3.6 RC Has Been Released

The GNOME Project announced last evening, September 19th, the immediate availability for download and testing of GNOME Shell 3.6 Release Candidate.
 
This is the last development version of the GNOME Shell 3.6 user interface for the highly anticipated GNOME 3.6 desktop environment upgrade, which will see the light of day next week, on September 26th, 2012.

GNOME 3.6 Release Candidate comes with many changes, among which we can mention that zoom animation was added to login, the session mode can now be changed at runtime, chat notification can be forced to stay open, messageTray updates, long-press support has been removed, lock screen animation, fprintd autostart, devices & places search provider was removed, the shell can now run without the screenshield, better login dialog transition, shell keybindings are now exposed in System Settings, as well as lots of translation updates.

Download GNOME Shell 3.6 RC sources right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
