The GNOME developers have announced a few days ago the the second development release towards GNOME Shell 3.12 user interface for the upcoming GNOME 3.12 desktop environment is available for download and testing.

GNOME Shell 3.11.2 support disabling browser plugin, uses the UNIX username in the userWidget if the real name doesn't fit, supports shell_global_reexec_self() on OpenBSD, and reimplements support for 'disable-restart-buttons'.

Moreover, GNOME Shell 3.11.2 now validates parameters of exposed D-Bus methods, connects applications to systemd journal if available, and fixes lots of other small, yet annoying bugs reported by users from the previous development release.

Last but not least, the following translations have been updated in this development release of GNOME Shell: Russian, Norwegian Bokmal, Greek, German, Thai, and Traditional Chinese. More details can be found in the official raw changelog.

Download GNOME Shell 3.11.2 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
