The GNOME Projects announced a few days ago that the fourth maintenance release of the GNOME Settings Daemon 3.8 package for the GNOME desktop environment is now available for download.

GNOME Settings Daemon 3.8.4 has been released to fix a possible startup crash issue, a battery warning notification issue, where notifications did not disappear after plugging the laptop to a power source, and possible crash in XRandR, related to overlapping screens.

Moreover, this stable release of the GNOME Settings Daemon package for the GNOME desktop environment has been modified to make GNOME-Shell's monitoring, of user-added applications, much faster, simply by creating the directory for them.

More details about this stable release of the GNOME Settings Daemon software can be found in the official raw changelog.
