The GNOME Music application that was introduced in the GNOME 3.10 desktop environment will receive some highly anticipated features in the upcoming GNOME Music 3.12 release.

Therefore, today, February 17, we are happy to announce the first Beta release of GNOME Music 3.12, which introduces initial support for playlists, filter-as-you-type functionality, a more random shuffle function, a properly styled search bar, and support for GTK+ 3.11 or later.

In addition, GNOME Music 3.12 Beta 1 fixes various annoying issues that were present in previous development releases, such as a crash when the Search button was toggled on the No Music view, as well as an SSH forwarding issue. Many translations have also been updated.

Download the GNOME Music 3.12 Beta 1 sources right now from Softpedia, or wait for the GNOME 3.12 Beta 1 release if you want to test this unstable version of the GNOME Music application.
