Stef Walter announced a couple of days ago, May 4, that the second maintenance release of the GNOME Keyring 3.8 package, GNOME’s safe storage tool for secrets, passwords, certificates and keys, is available for download.

GNOME Keyring 3.8.2 brings several improvements and fixes over the previous stable release (3.8.1), among which we can mention that the GTK+ 3.8 deprecations have been fixed, as well as build issues.

GNOME Keyring 3.8.2 can now handle build certificate chains when intermediates have wrong order, and cases where there’s no certificate data.

Moreover, certificates will no longer be imported to GNOME Keyring’s XDG module, and the p11-kit trust module received an appropriate icon.

The gcr build will now be available for both pre GTK+ 3.8 and later versions, and the application has been updated for recent changes in the libtasn1 library. More details can be found in the official release announcement. Download GNOME Keyring 3.8.2 right now from Softpedia.
