Dubbed Romario, the first Beta release of the upcoming GNOME Documents 3.8 package, the main document viewer of the GNOME desktop environment, has been released last week for testing.

GNOME Documents 3.8 Beta 1 introduces a presentation mode, adds Next and Previous overlay button in preview, adds support for PDF documents from Google, as well as support to launch external links from documents.

The clutter-gtk and clutter dependencies have been removed in this first Beta release, and a bug in the positioning of the preview overlay window has been fixed. More information can be found in the official raw changelog.

Download GNOME Documents 3.8 Beta 1 (3.7.90) sources right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a beta release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
