Approximately three days after announcing the first point release of GNOME Builder 3.16 integrated development environment utility for the GNOME 3.16.1 desktop environment, Christian Hergert presents a second maintenance release that contains more bug fixes.

Among the bugs fixed in GNOME Builder 3.16.2, we can mention a double free and project tree loading in dummy VCS (Version Control Systems), issues with workbench action names in the Emacs mode, and problems with Unicode character encoding in markdown live preview.

"Based on early feedback from 3.16.1, I'm announcing a followup release. This is primarily a bug-fix release," says Christian Hergert in the release notes for GNOME Builder 3.16.2. "Thanks to everyone that tested 3.16.1 and provided feedback!"

Various improvements have been implemented as well

The second point release of GNOME Builder 3.16 also improves sorting of filenames in the project tree, enables project tree and the project tree icons by default, adds support for renaming files and moving files to trash in the project tree, and introduces several Clang build fixes.

Moreover, GNOME Builder 3.16.2 now uses the sysconf() function for page size, a needed improvement that fixes compilation issues with the OpenBSD computer operating system, and replaces 'hamburger' with 'arrow down' for the search bar.

Lastly, the latest version of the IDE software for the GNOME desktop environment now ensures loading of files matching GtkSourceLanguage-supported content types, and lets developers sort previously opened projects before they are being discovered by miners.

The GNOME Builder 3.16.2 sources can be downloaded today from Softpedia or directly from the project's official website, where you can find more information about the app. On GNU/Linux distributions, it is recommended to install GNOME Builder from the main software repositories.
