This is not the first time that Paris Hilton is publicly attacked by one organization or another, the only difference being that, now, GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Association Against Defamation)
will not be silenced without a proper apology and genuine signs of remorse. What chance do they stand of seeing this from Paris? All bets are on none.
As we were telling you a couple of days, parisexposed.com, the site that put all of the heiress' private items on display, was banned by a court order, until February 16, when the listed owner will be given the possibility to address the injunction. We were also commenting then that, although the website was shut down, the harm was already done because many of the videos and the photos posted there had already found their way on the Internet. Case point: GLAAD wants Paris to apologize.
One of the many videos that were posted on the now defunct site showed the naughty socialite partying with her sister Nicky at a club. We all know that Paris loves the camera and that the camera loves her back so it's no use wondering why she chose that precise occasion to make her thoughts public and/or to leave them for posterity.
You might also know that the world of showbiz has seen one of the biggest scandals in the history of television, involving actors Isaiah Washington and T. R. Knight and revolving around the use of the word 'faggot' on the set of the popular series 'Grey's Anatomy'. If you look even further than that, you might also recall the Michael 'Kramer' Richards, when he insulted two black members of his audience, by referring to them as 'niggers'.
If you take this two instances and add a little of Paris, what do you get? You get a real monument of stupidity, you get Paris in all her glory, hurling insults at the camera and in front of it. The latest scandal is about this footage (that, as we have already mentioned, got leaked on the Internet), which showed Paris talking to someone and addressing him as 'faggot'. But this doesn't stop here.
'Were like two n*ggers. N*gger hoodlum, broke poor bitch from, like, Compton.', Paris says straight in the camera, referring to herself and to her sister. While some of us would say to this 'Yeah, right!', GLAAD says 'Hell, NO!'. According to the association, Paris needs to step up and take responsibility for her words and she needs to do that STAT.
'When Paris Hilton utters these words into a camera, it creates a permanent record that regardless of when it occurred and because it has been made public she must bear responsibility for. These are not frivolous words, and to use them as if they are gives tacit sanction to the racism and homophobia they engender. Hilton has an obligation to go on the record, explain herself, and publicly apologize to the LGBT and African American communities and all those offended by these slurs.' GLAAD president Neil Giuliano said in a statement.
Well, it's probably not gonna happen, since it didn't work out either for another website that planned to boycott her by boycotting all the products she endorses. That site was up yesterday and today it is no longer with us, probably thanks to another court order. Also, all the videos of Paris (from parisexposed.com) were taken down. Can you spell 'damage control'? How about 'bubble-minded ass'?
