Nuclear Nova Software, a company run by a single college student at the Rochester Institute of Technology for Microelectronic Engineering, has a few Mac games up for grabs, one of which is a realistic 3D golf
title.
GL Golf, now at version 2.17, adds night mode to the time of day options, a save scorecard to image button after finishing a round of golf, and over a dozen other new additions and fixes.
GL Golf is a 3D golf game boasting a realistic physics system and pretty good graphics as well, keeping in mind it only requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, G3 at 450MHz or better and 16MB VRAM. Nothing is missed from the real life experience (except maybe for the morning breeze), staying true to the actual game with 18 different holes, obstacles (sand traps, water, trees) and more. To sum up the features list comes a great score, which adds to the pleasant experience. Up to four players can golf all 342 holes. Water hazards, sand traps, trees, bushes, wind, and a driving range, all make part of the game.
A list of newly added features and enhancements is available below.
· Added night mode to the time of day options
· GL Golf automatically saves after every shot and before quitting, Resume Game should be available after a crash.
· Improved the mini-map arc
· Added the option to disable fog (will also disable Best Round submission)
· Added a save scorecard to image button after finishing a round of golf
· Demo users can now save/resume games
· Putting closer than 10 yards now shows exact the decimal vertical distance to the hole
· Trees/bushes are now more transparent when the camera is close to them
· Added individual player names to the scorecard
· Several speed optimizations for older computers.
