14 DAY TRIAL // GFI Software has updated its GFI Cloud platform to include Web Protection, a service that’s designed to help the IT managers of small and medium-sized businesses in reducing exposure to web-based security risks and productivity loss.
Companies can use the IT platform to manage and secure servers, laptops and workstations from a single web-based interface. The addition of Web Protection allows administrators to manage internet access and use on both local and remote company devices.
Web Protection includes security features that protect machines against malware, phishing, proxies, adware, spyware, spam and botnets. The solution is also good for increasing productivity since its URL filtering capabilities can be used to set time-based browsing rules for 80 website categories.
“Malware is growing more sophisticated by the day, and cybercriminals are targeting users from all directions – on social media sites, through unpatched software, in search engine results, the list goes on,” said Sergio Galindo, head of global product management at GFI Software.

With the addition of the Web Protection service, GFI Cloud now provides organizations with anti-malware protection, Internet protection, patch management, service assurance, asset and inventory management, and network monitoring.
GFI Cloud also supports TeamViewer to allow administrators to remotely address the identified issues.
Web Protection for GFI Cloud is available effective immediately. Web Protection, Antivirus and Patch Management services are priced at £12 ($19 / €14) each, per computer, per year. Software maintenance and 24/7 support are included in all subscriptions.
