GET Interactive announced the availability of the first mobile video shopping application. The new product enables mobile subscribers to identify products in mobile video content and purchase those products directly from their mobile phones, or download coupons redeemable at nearby retail stores - all without disrupting the viewing experience.

"Our new mobile shopping application creates a direct one-to-one interaction between consumers, brands and mobile video on a level that has never been achieved before," explained Frederick Harrison, CEO and founder of GET Interactive. "It is the first application of its kind to deliver a tangible, workable mobile video revenue model to wireless providers and mobile portals."

Traditional advertising models have proven unsuccessful in mobile environments, as mobile subscribers cannot justify paying for data traffic while viewing ads in front of the content they have chosen to download or stream. The result is that the amount of mobile video actually being consumed is limited due to the subscribers' desire to avoid pre-roll advertisements. GET Interactive's new mobile video shopping application solves this problem by enabling the actual mobile video content to operate as a storefront for products. The application will drive subscriber consumption, as users will be more likely to download video content with an opt-in advertising model.

Consumers shopping with the GET Interactive mobile platform will have the option of direct purchases which may be applied to a wireless bill, or downloading a GPS location-based coupon to the nearest store carrying the desired product. This way, the GET Interactive mobile video platform can be used to drive retail promotions, as well as increase revenue for mobile providers by allowing service charges to be applied to direct purchases.

GET Interactive is currently in discussions with wireless providers and mobile portals to bring the application to consumers. The company's advertising model can currently be seen on the website of Paramount Pictures' Freedom Writers, 2007 film starring Academy Award winner Hilary Swank. The website can be accessed HERE.
