End-users are starting to care more and more about other things besides raw processing power or high-speed data transfers. Consumers are becoming more concerned with not only the reliability and maintenance of their machines, but also with their aesthetic value, with some customers even making a point of having a system which is eye-catching both on the outside and on the inside. For modders and gamers who want feature-rich and colorful fans, GELID introduces its LED-equipped Wing 12 PL 120mm case spinners with a maximum sound output of 26dBA.

"We created the Wing 12 PL especially for gamers and modders who are looking for a silent but colorful fan with unique features," said VC Tran marketing director of GELID Solutions.

The chassis fans measure, as already mentioned, 120mm and have adjustable rotary speeds which can range between 600 and 1800 RPM. The fans have a mean time before failure (MTBF) set at 100,000 hours and impellers which can be easily detached in case cleaning is required. In addition, the fans boast a longer life and ultra quietness thanks to their Nanoflux bearing.

The Nanoflux bearing is superior to the mainstream sleeve and ball bearings, boasting both a long lifetime and a low noise output. The sleeve bearing, while indeed very cost effective and silent, tends to leak oil, becoming unusable once the oil has dissipated. Ball bearings are also somewhat more disadvantageous than Nanoflux bearings, as they cost more and have a higher noise output. GELID's Nanoflux combines both long life and low noise. Contact between the bearing and the shaft is limited through the use of a magnetic flux and oil leakage is reduced thanks to a high precision self-lubricated material.

The Wing 12 PL fans use a blue and green LED light respectively and have a price tag of $19 (13 Euro). Both products are accompanied by a three-year warranty.
