GIGA-BYTE Communications (GBC) announced today that it planned to come to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week with a handful of devices, which are part of three major categories, including Multimedia, Business and Style. The company intends to continue to expand its lineup with new products that will be unveiled at the tradeshow, the same as it does every year.

GBC states that it will introduce two new models to the Multimedia category. The new devices are meant to deliver all that the market demands, since high-quality camera PDA phones have become quite popular these days. One of these handsets, the MS820, has been already presented last year, and this year the company will give a full view over it.

At the same time, GBC will showcase a new model with higher specifications. Moreover, the company also plans to demonstrate a multimedia PDA phone with DVB-T and/or DVB-H, as we are already accustomed to see from the maker.

In the Business area, GBC will announce a device that is rather different from what it has unveiled before. The product is stated to come with more functions meant to ensure that the business operation is smoother and more secure.

The GSmart S1200, a device that can be seen in the invitation card next to this article, will be added to the Style category. The S1200 comes with a chic and stylish design, featuring a simple round arc shape and including a special coated texture meant to avoid fingerprints on the handset. The device will run under Windows Mobile Professional 6.1 OS, and is powered by a Qualcomm 7200A (528MHz) processor meant to deliver great performance.

“Windows phones let customers access the people and information they care about, wherever they are,” said Todd Peters, corporate vice president, Mobile Communications Business, Microsoft Corp. “The new GIGA-BYTE GSmart S1200 and MS820 will help people work more efficiently, surf the Web, and enjoy their favorite movies and music, delivering a truly connected experience.”

The S1200 will also come with a new UI developed by GBC, the Smart Zone, meant to deliver fashionable appearance, easy utilization and great performance. In addition, the user interface works under the concept 'Core', placing the users at the core of the phone, allowing for all programs to be reached in one or two simple steps. The UI is one of the most efficient currently available on the market.
