There’s no doubt that Samsung’s Galaxy S III is one of the most popular smartphones of all time, but what about Apple’s iPhone 5?

According to TrustedReviews, citing uSwitch’s survey, Samsung sold more Galaxy S III units in the UK than Apple’s iPhone 5.

These figures are based on “live searches, pre-orders and pay monthly sales that have been compiled by uSwitch,” TrustedReviews claims.

“The affordable price point has kept the Samsung Galaxy S3 at the top of the tree, but whether it will be at the top of the Christmas tree remains to be seen, as price drops for both the 4S and 5 have seen the iPhone quickly gaining ground,” said Ernest Doku, telecoms expert at uSwitch.

Apple’s iPhone 4S is ranked second in the sales charts for the UK, followed closely by iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S II.
