Interest in the new GALAXY S 4 smartphone from Samsung is very high in the UK, and the latest data from the Carphone Warehouse confirms that.

Following a previous report from Phones4U that claimed two times more interest in the new handset compared to what Galaxy S III registered last year, Carphone Warehouse has unveiled today that pre-registrations for the device have topped last year’s interest by more than 300 percent.

According to the company, GALAXY S 4 has so far seen 446 percent pre-registrations compared to Galaxy S III, which makes it more than four times more popular than that handset, although it hasn’t been released as of yet.

The company has compared the pre-registration figures taken between March 15 and March 18, 2013 for the GALAXY S 4 with those taken between April 25 and April 30 last year for the Galaxy S III.

“The vast number of pre-registrations we’ve had for this device is evidence how hot the Galaxy S4 is going to be,” Graham Stapleton, chief operating officer at Carphone Warehouse, said, a recent post on PhoneArena claims.

“The launch event in New York clearly captured the imagination of many of our customers - acting as the driving force for the busiest pre-registration period we’ve ever seen!”

The Carphone Warehouse has already announced plans to make the new mobile phone available for purchase to its customers starting with April 26, but hasn’t unveiled specific info on its pricing as of now.

However, the company provides users interested in the new mobile phone with the possibility to register for updates on its arrival on this page on its website.

“The Galaxy SIII launch broke records last year and was always going to be a tough one to beat, but the S4 is already proving to be a more than capable step up in the series that will inspire many people to make the switch to Android from other operating systems. This device is the one to watch for 2013,” Graham Stapleton continued.
