Australian mobile phone users will soon be able to purchase a new high-end Android-based smartphone on the airwaves of local carrier Vodafone, namely the Samsung GALAXY Note.

The handset has already been rumored to be on its way to Australia, and now all is official, as Vodafone has confirmed via its Twitter account that it will be ranging the device soon.

“The Samsung GALAXY Note is coming soon to Vodafone. Check out our preview with Samsung last week,” the carrier tweeted.

Galaxy Note, the largest Android smartphone in the world, features a 5.3-inch screen, a dual-core 1.4GHz application processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB storage, and support for up to 32GB of storage via the MicroSD card slot.

The mobile phone also sports an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with HD video recording, as well as a front camera for video calling.
