The Ice Cream Sandwich device will also land at wireless carriers in the country

The latest Google phone, none other than the Samsung GALAXY Nexus, is expected to become available for purchase in the UK various retailers, in addition to being set to make an appearance at wireless carriers in the country.

We already learned that companies like Vodafone or Three UK will be getting the new smartphone in their offering, and it seems that Phones 4U will also have it up for grabs.

The retailer is expected to make the new device available with contracts from more carriers, and might also sell it unlocked.

For the time being, the company did not offer specific info on when the new device might be released on its airwaves, and did not announce a specific price tag of it either, but all is expected to go down in early November.

The new GALAXY Nexus device arrives on shelves with a fast dual-core application processor inside, with each core clocked in at 1.2GHz, also also sports a large 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED Touchscreen display.

“The buttonless design features software navigation buttons, boosted by a resolution of 720p giving you ultimate viewing clarity. The large vivid display means you can play games or watch videos in swanky high definition,” Phones 4U notes.

“The dual-core processor makes the handset powerful and super-speedy. It also works to deliver high speed web browsing and ensure that video playback and game play is without lag.”

On the back, the new GALAXY Nexus smartphone packs a 5-megapixel photo snapper that features auto-focus and LED Flash, and which can offer full HD video recording capabilities. It is complemented by a 1.3MP camera on the front for video calling.

The phone packs 1Gb of RAM and up to 32GB of internal memory, as well as WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, NFC and various sensors, as well as support for Google Maps and the like.

Not to mention that it runs under the new Ice Cream Sandwich OS flavor, which brings along a load of new features.

“The new Android platform has a redesigned user interface, allowing for better multitasking and more attractive visuals. Contacts have been updated also meaning once you access the People app you can browse all your mates’ social activity and interactions,” the retailer notes.
