G1 Jockey is a video game that was developed and published by KOEI Co., Ltd.

The game was launched exclusively on the PlayStation 2 home gaming console from Sony.

The title was launched during 2002.

The game can be classed as being a sport simulation that can be played from a third-person perspective and can allow the player to experience all the elements of a horse racing derby.

This is a game about choosing the right jockey and the right horse and then putting the resulting team to work to defeat other pairs.

Each of the horses included in the game has a set of characteristics that define how the player should handle them in the races and there's quite a bit of strategy to the actual racing.

Front runner horses like to be leading the pack at all times and then go for the line while drop-in horses need to have their pace upped sequentially before aiming for the win.

There are also drop-out horses, who require more precise timing, and hold-up horses, who prefer a quick pace at all times.

There's a full Carrer mode to get through and there are also quick training races.

GAMEPLAY HINTS

Better chance of winning

Ride a horse that is "A" or "B" rated with a lot of stamina that prefers to be at the back of the pack. When about 5 furlongs away from the finish line, press Triangle to get closer to the front. Use most or all of your stamina before letting the horse run out to the leaders.
