There is a new range of memory products in town, one that doesn't quite qualify as superpowered but comes close enough to satisfy most people.

Said series of memory is called AEGIS line and is composed of standard-height DDR3 modules.

With frequencies of DDR3-1333 MHz and DDR3-1600 MHz, the modules can have up to 8 GB capacities. They can even switch from one clock setting to the other, owing to support for two different JEDEC-approved SPD profiles.

G.Skill's AEGIS also possess timings of 9-9-9-24 (for the DDR3-1333, 1.35V modules) and 11-11-11-28 (1600 MHz, 1.5V).

As for the design, it consists of a black PCB (printed circuit board) and an aluminum heatspreader (colored red with steel-grey or golden shield die-cast prints).

G.Skill AEGIS kits should show up for sale soon, at prices of under $100 / €73.
