After quitting Kaspersky Labs and selling all her shares, Natalya Kaspersky – former wife of Eugene Kaspersky and owner of InforWatch Holding – has decided to focus her efforts and her resources on German antivirus company G Data Software AG.

Kaspersky has acquired over 16.8% of the company’s shares and, on October 23, when the company's annual shareholder meeting takes place, she will be elected to the supervisory board.

Kai Figge, the co-founder of G Data, welcomes Kaspersky’s decision to invest in his company, especially since their professional relationship goes a long way back.

”I have known Natalya Kaspersky since 1996. She is an outstanding character and was the driver of a unique success story. I am looking forward to a reliable, experienced and smart partner. It’s a dream combination,” Figge said.

On the other hand, Kaspersky also seems pleased by the offer to join the company.

“For many years I watched this company and I think it deserves more international success due to its' excellent product portfolio and high level of protection. During the years G Data has made significant technological improvements. I was impressed by the exceptional number of international awards won by the G Data products,” she said.

“I think, despite the changes in the IT world the quality of detection of security companies is still a priority. As a member of the G Data supervisory board I will spread G Data’s excellent reputation round the globe and hope to help the company by using my knowledge and experience of the IT security field.”

Natalya Kaspersky has been named one of the most successful women in the IT industry and considering the fact that she has helped in building one of the biggest security companies in the world, any antivirus firm would be lucky to have her on board.
