You probably know these guys if you have ever played a computer game in the past ten years. They are responsible for 3DMark, the program that was able to tell you
how good the latest video card you bought really is. And, since they now have the experience regarding both how next-gen are the gamers' video cards, as well as how to create some great environments, characters and monsters, they have decided that it's time to start doing something really big. And this is the reason they have created the Futuremark Games Studio.

"Futuremark Games Studio is committed to developing original IP games with the highest quality game play combined with our established track record of creating blow-your-socks-off visuals", said Tero Sarkkinen, CEO of Futuremark Corporation. "For years, our fans have been asking us when will we start making games. Very soon they are going to get it - and then some!"

So the new studio has only one goal: to create world class games and nothing less. Of course, they will integrate all the latest technologies into their game engines, so we should expect nothing less but some top notch graphics. This includes games and their engines that deliver stellar performance even on modest platforms right up to the most enthusiastic levels of performance hardware. Doesn't this sound really good?

The newly created Futuremark Games Studio still has to announce their first project(s), and no hints were given regarding the genres we should expect from them. From what we saw in their 3DMark programs, however, we would tend to believe that their first piece of art will be a first person shooter or some crazy action adventure with dragons and lots of spells. Of course, all these are nothing but pure speculation coming from somebody who is really excited about this newly launched games studio.
