Eiji Aonuma, the current producer working on The Legend of Zelda series, says that Nintendo is thinking about making all future titles more open for those fans who love exploration.

The developer is quoted by Mashable as saying that Wind Waker is the most open game he has worked on because it suited the core game mechanics.

He admitted that Skyward Sword placed more limitations on its players.

Aonuma says, “As we're deciding what the core gameplay mechanic was, we have that open-world desire at the forefront of our minds, and we're trying to figure out how to incorporate that as well.”

More information on a new Zelda title for the Wii U will be offered at the 2014 edition of E3.

Until then, fans will be able to play The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, which will be offered on the Nintendo 3DS in late November.
