When Amazon released the Kindle Fire, consumers were amazed by how cheap the tablet was. As time has passed, even the almighty Apple realized that a cheaper iPad might boost its revenue. And so, it launched the iPad mini.

But what would you say if in the near future Android-fueled tablets could be purchased for the just $100 / €75? According to Intel, that’s exactly what is going to happen.

General Manager for tablet processors, Chris Walker told CNET that upcoming Android tablets, packing Intel Atom chips under the hood, will be priced around that point.

Ultra cheap tablets like the one outlined above are not a novelty in the tech world however. Hewlett-Packard already has a $140 device on the market - the ARM-powered Slate 7.

Intel Atom chips will be found in both Windows and Android devices, but the latter will most likely be more affordable.
