A brand new survey concerning the future of the Far Cry series has appeared online, reportedly, and hints at upcoming themes such as vampires, dinosaurs, zombies, or even aliens, as those who participate in the data gathering need to share their preferences with Ubisoft.

The Far Cry series has been around for quite some time and has mostly dealt with human conflicts, putting players in the shoes of different protagonists who go up against other mercenaries or bad guys. Of course, there have been a few supernatural elements here and there, and the special downloadable spinoff, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, featured all sorts of crazy things.

Ubisoft is conducting surveys for crazy sequel ideas

Now, Ubisoft is offering a select number of Far Cry fans a special survey filled with potential settings and themes for the franchise, according to a report from Eurogamer.

These include a game set in remote Alaska and focused on survival, one set in the sci-fi future on another planet, or one that's set in the Vietnam war, during the 1960s. There are also a few crazier options offered, such as a game that sees players fight against or with vampires or zombies.

Some more options include a game set in a "Spaghetti Western" era, one in the cocaine jungles of Peru, one in a Mad Max style post-apocalyptic world, or one in a Jurassic Park style dinosaur park. Of course, sequels like a Blood Dragon 2 or a Far Cry 4 spinoff focused solely on the fantasy world of Shangri-La are also mentioned.

Some ideas could come true

Bear in mind that this survey is just a report for now, as Ubisoft hasn't talked about its various methods of testing the interest of fans in new games.

However, in the past, it used similar methods to choose new mechanics or settings for the Assassin's Creed series, so it's possible that at least some of these ideas are being considered internally for the future of the Far Cry franchise.

As of right now, Ubisoft Montreal, the studio behind last year's Far Cry 4, is still busy working on downloadable content for the first-person shooter.
