14 DAY TRIAL // Sometimes, a product will sell so well that the name will be enough to reel in customers all on its own. In fact, the success may be so great that the people who made the product will start releasing new versions of it or other products based on it.
If you're familiar with such goings on, then the case of the Func HS-260 should not take you by surprise. Or should we say the case of the Func HS-260 White Edition.
People might argue that a cosmetic change isn't enough to earn a new, official announcement, but Func begs to differ. The press release was a short thing, true, but it was issued, which is the whole point.
If only the new color option had come with some other perks, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Then again, the original Func HS-260 was already pretty great to begin with.
The Func HS-260 White Edition
As is no doubt clear by now, the specifications are the exact same ones as on the Func HS-260. That means you get a pair of 50mm tuned and paired drivers and a closed acoustic construction (large, around-the-ear earcups).
It also means that the headphone set offers a frequency response of 20 to 20,000 Hz, while the impedance is of 32 Ohms.
Furthermore, the product has a pair of 3.5 mm jacks (3.5mm Audio and Mic jacks) and a 3-meter / 10-foot long cable that can fully detach from the main body of the headset. You can connect the cable and microphone to either side of the headset too.
Another feature is the use of changeable ear cushions. The purchase includes a set of velour and one set of leather cushions, but it should be possible to buy other ones later, though you're unlikely to find yourself in need of such replacements.
Finally, the sound and volume controls are directly integrated into the headset itself, instead of an in-line piece mounted on the headphone cord. You won't get annoyed anymore by the controls getting stuck on the table or wrapped up in your clothes. Func is very verbose on this matter, on the product page of the original HS-260.
Availability and pricing
The Func HS-260 White Edition set of headphones will be found online with the price of $79.95 in the USA and €69.95 in Europe. Those being the official prices cited in the press release, even though exchange rates would suggest €64.28 in Europe.
