Working as a freelancer gives him the time to develop the title

Fumito Ueda, one of the leading designers working on The Last Guardian, says that he is sorry that fans are being asked to wait so much to get their hands on a finished version of The Last Guardian.

He is quoted by NeoGAF as saying that he would have liked to have the title complete, but various issues have made the development process harder than it should have been.

Ueda has recently chosen to become a freelancer rather than continue to work with Sony using a traditional yearly contract.

When asked about his current workload, he answered “The Last Guardian and the rest is secret. Outside of games, well, just for a hobby, I’d like to try my hand at art.”

Shuhei Yoshida has recently claimed that he played the game and was impressed by its mechanics, but he was unable to recall which platform he used to test The Last Guardian.
