Dolphin, an emulator for two recent Nintendo video game consoles, the GameCube and the Wii, is now at version 4.0.
According to the developers, Dolphin is capable of providing PC gamers with a completely new experience for these two consoles in full HD (1080p), with several enhancements, such as compatibility with all PC controllers, turbo speed, networked multiplayer, and a lot more.
Highlights of Dolphin 4.0 Wii and GameCube emulator:
• Support has been added for the Wii official online multiplayer; • Support has been added for ARM/Android, although it's in Alpha stages; • Wii Balance Board and GC Steering Wheel support has been added; • Wii Remote support improvements have been implemented; • Fastmem, an optimization for Dolphin's CPU emulation, has been added for the Linux version; • A new OpenAL audio backend has been added; • The Dolphin OpenGL video backend was rewritten.
