Get your own, independent answering machine

One of the easiest ways to take over all your missed calls is to set up your voice mail. Usually, this is network operator-dependent, but Melon Mobile offers Symbian smarpthone users an alternative that will make them independent of this service. Basically, with Voice Inbox installed on their smartphone, they will have their own answering machine with local storage of messages instead of using their mobile operator's voice mailbox service.

You can install Voice Inbox either over-the-air, or by simply connecting your phone to the PC. Those that own Nokia 3.1 and 3.2 devices should note that, upon the installation of the application, you will be prompted to install APS Server v2.2. In case you receive an Update Error, you need to uninstall the incompatible version of APS Server in order to be able to use Voice Inbox.

Voice Inbox works exactly like an answering machine, by simply picking up all your incoming calls. The delay after which the application will pick up the calls can be defined in advance, the default period being set to 0 seconds. All phone calls answered by the Voice Inbox are being kept in a log and can be browsed and listened to whenever you want.

Some of the advantages of the application include: a local log of messages received; a visual indicator on the stand-by status bar of the phone, showing the activity and new-message alerts; custom voice greeting that can be easily modified, audio-routing selection – you can choose whether to play your messages/greetings on the loudspeaker or through the earpiece; call-back option – you can easily call the person who left you a message back from the received message log; flexibility – you can change greetings very easily and you can also set the greeting timeout and length at your own preference; contact-name mapping in the voice mail log for phonebook contacts; user-friendly interface – the application is manageable with just a few clicks.
Voice Inbox is offered for download as a fully functional trial version limited to 15 incoming calls. After reaching this limit, the application will require a license to unlock. The full version of the software can be acquired for about $11.50.
