Maximum tweaking at a low price

BlackBerry owners will be happy to find that they have finally gotten one application that will help them fully tweak their smartphones. BerryTweak, developed by Swoosh Software, lets BlackBerry users customize and optimize their devices' technical abilities, including: locking screen, keyboard locking, phone functions, messages, power settings, connections, clock and LED functions.

One of the most useful tweaks of the software is the capability to automatically lock the screen and keyboard during calls, as well as dim the backlight during them. Both tweaks are working as they should, with screen locking instantly the moment you receive or answer a call, and backlight dimming as well. Another function that I have found very useful is the possibility of scheduling the smartphone's power on/off. You can even make a profile for each day of the week. Basically, the phone will be shut down completely when it is scheduled and will turn on again when you set the time for this action to occur. Likewise, the function works flawlessly.

BerryTweak offers vibration alerts for calls and messages, either received or sent. Also, when the smartphone is low on power, it starts shutting down some of such connections as the Bluetooth or radio signal. Bear in mind that BlackBerry Storm has this feature implemented by default, but it makes a nice addition to other BlackBerry devices as well.

The application also integrates the Flashlight function, instantly raising your screen's light to the maximum. For devices that feature an LED, you'll be noticed when you have to charge the smartphone (red) or when it is charging (green). For those that are working in shifts, BerryTweak features a nice hourly chime function that will see your smartphone chiming or vibrating every hour that passes, for a certain time that has been previously defined.

BerryTweak costs no more than USD 4.95$, which makes it a real bargain for BlackBerry owners. In case you want to try it before you buy it, the developer also offers the app as a free trial for 3 days.
